Character Design
This assignment was very different from the others I've done thus far because I actually had to learn and use some drawing skills on real paper. I've never considered myself a good drawer or artist and that is a big part of why I choose to take Photoshop to get my art credit. However, after a bit of practice I got the hang of some basic drawing skills that I think will help me be more confident in my drawing from here on out. I still don't think I want to do anything in drawing, but it's nice to have some of these basic skills down such as how to look and draw exactly what I see without letting my ideas of how something "should" be drawn get in my way. I also learned how to use circles to create proper proportions on my paper. Finally, I designed my very own character. My character has a TV for a head, a VCR for a torso, and a plug for a tail. I think he is really cool and robotic looking. I imagine him being some sort of cyber villain in a comic or TV show. I used the design I drew as a basis for creating my character in Photoshop and I really like how he turned out.
